Privacy Policy

CageWork Labs ("we," "us") provides a game-based developmental assessment for young athletes. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We take extra care with data from young people.

Plain-language summary: We collect the information you enter and how you play the games, use it to generate your report and improve the assessment, and store it securely. Individual results are never sold. The assessment is for ages 13–22; athletes under 18 need a parent or guardian to read and agree to our Terms and this policy, and confirm that on the start form. You can ask us to delete your data at any time at info@cageworklabs.com.

Who can use the assessment

The assessment is intended for athletes ages 13–22, and the start form only accepts ages in that range. If an athlete is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must read and agree to the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy before the athlete begins. The start form asks the athlete to confirm this with a required checkbox (“I’m under 18, and a parent or guardian has read and agreed to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy”). We record that the box was checked, with the time; we do not collect the parent or guardian’s name or contact details. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

What we collect

Information you enter on the start form: the athlete’s name, age, and sport (optional). We also record that the Terms and Privacy box was checked and, for athletes under 18, that the parent or guardian confirmation box was checked, with the time.
How you play: gameplay behavior across the five games (The Playbook, Keep Your Eyes, The Setup, Take the Pitch, and The Siege) — for example, choices made, taps, timing of responses, swing-or-take decisions in Take the Pitch, and how performance changes across the session. These are used to calculate the scores in the report.
Scores and report content: the scores, profile name, and notes generated from the games.
Technical information: basic device and browser details (browser type and version, screen size and pixel density, language, and time zone) to help the assessment run and to interpret results, plus a random device ID and session ID (stored in your browser, containing no personal information) so repeat sessions from the same device can be linked.

What stays on your device

After you finish, the assessment keeps a short summary of the result in your browser’s local storage — the date, name and initials, age, profile title, sport, skill scores and bands, and the scoring version — so you can see “Your past results,” compare a retest, and download your own copy. The browser also keeps a local copy of the completed session and the random device ID described above. While you are playing, the games you have finished are kept in your browser for up to 2 hours so a refresh or a closed tab does not lose them; that copy is removed when you finish or start over. This device history is not synced or linked to an account. You can clear the results list with the “Clear history” button, or remove everything by clearing this site’s data in your browser. Clearing it on your device does not delete the copy sent to CageWork Labs; email us for that.

Return codes and results files: you can turn your past results into a return code, a QR code or a file to move them to another phone or computer. These are made in your browser and are not uploaded to us. Anyone who has the code or file can read the results in it, so keep it to yourself and your parent or guardian.
Team links: if you open the site from a team link, the team code is kept in your browser for up to 30 days and added to the results saved on your device. The team code is not sent to us or to the coach.
Coach one-pager and progress card: these are made on your device from your saved results. They are only shared if you choose to print, download or share them.

How we use it

To generate the athlete's development profile and report.
To operate, debug, and improve the assessment and its scoring.
To produce anonymized, aggregated insights that never identify an individual.

How we protect it

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in a secure, access-controlled database hosted by our infrastructure provider on servers located in the United States. The public website can only submit results — it cannot read or retrieve other people's data. Access to stored data is limited to CageWork Labs.

What we do not do

Individual results are never sold, and are not shared with recruiters, colleges, or anyone else without explicit written consent.
We do not use the assessment to make automated decisions about an athlete's opportunities.

Your choices and rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about an athlete, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For a minor, a parent or guardian can make these requests. Email info@cageworklabs.com and we will respond promptly.

Data retention

We keep assessment data for as long as needed to provide reports and improve the assessment, and we delete or anonymize it on request. As we formalize the program, we will publish a specific retention period here.

What this assessment is — and isn't

CageWork Labs is a developmental tool designed to open conversations about how a young athlete competes, adapts, recovers, and leads. It is not a medical, psychological, or clinical evaluation, and it is not a definitive judgment of an athlete's ability or future. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the program grows. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
